Biography
Born in Vienna, Bela Borsodi studied Graphic Design before pursuing Fine Arts, earning his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Bela chose photography as the ideal medium to amalgamate his diverse artistic interests.
In 1992, Bela moved to New York, and in 1999 he focused on still-life photography, a dominant aspect of his work. He has collaborated with international magazines and brands, often developing and building the sets for his photographs himself, as they are integral to his imagery and conceptual process.
In 2013, Bela also began directing short films and music videos. He published "Unicorn" with Libraryman in 2018 and "Phytophile" with Dashwood Books in 2019. In 2021 he showcased his installation "Assembly No.2" at Project 105 in New York City, in 2024 his project “Birth Life Death” was exhibited at the Corner Gallery in Andes, NY.
